My dermatologist told me to use Vanicream or Neutrogena for my melasma. Neutrogena stings like crazy after using an exfoliator or Retin-A. Vanicream feels like a dream. I've never had any tanning or darkening of the spots when I have it on. I have normal to oily skin and I do not pop. It's a bit greasy, but only if it was too thick. If you want a matte finish on the face, that's what I was face powder!
